DLoG is an experienced business partner with more than 30,000 machine control systems worldwide equipped with DNC solutions. 450 different types of controllers are provided with NC data including Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens, Philips, Bosch, Traub, Deckel, Gildemeister, Mazak and many others.
We offer a full range of systems suitable for companies requiring NC program transfer to just a couple of machines, up to systems supporting over 100 machines and distributing not just NC programs but all production information.
Remote DNC
Remote DNC solutions characteristically require the lowest amount of installation and hardware investment. A dedicated DNC terminal is not required. The computer running Remote DNC is connected directly to the serial interface on your CNC machine(s) via serial cable or Ethernet. This is all it takes for NC programs to be transferred smoothly from your computer to your machines, and irritating disruptions in your workflow are a thing of the past.
DLoG offers two versions of Remote DNC:
Remote DNC using RS232 cabling
In its simplest form Remote DNC allows connection of up to eight machines using serial (RS232) cables to a central computer. The user simply needs to press the output button to send a small request file with the name of the desired NC program from the machine control system to the DNC computer. All that remains is to press the Input button on the controller - everything else is automatic. The Remote DNC software analyses the request file and sends the correct NC program to the machine.
Remote DNC using COM Servers
If longer distances exist (typically 20m or more), then the serial cable is replaced with ethernet network cabling and a COM server (also called a serial server) is installed at the machine's RS232 port.
Alternatively avoid the use of cables completely and choose a system allowing movement or relocation of the machines in the future by installing wireless COM servers. The system works in just the same way but uses a wireless network infrastructure.
Direct DNC
With DloG's Direct DNC, PC's or Industrial PC's are located at, or near to each machine tool. The operator uses the PC/IPC to call down the required NC program and transmit it to the machine. The advantage of this solution is that the shopfloor PC may be used for other tasks, for instance access to a document management system, SPC system, or the company's ERP system. There is also more control over the data that the operator can access than is possible with a Remote DNC solution.
Advanced DNC
Advanced DNC allows an operator to easily download NC part programs and also to download supporting engineering documents such as drawings and manufacturing instructions. The operator can thus view information for a particular works order or component as required. In addition the system can interface with other systems such as ERP/MRP and Tool Management systems giving a Paperless Manufacturing solution.
