Direct DNC

Direct DNC solutions characteristically require the lowest amount of installation and hardware investment. This solution is particularly suited for companies that require access to NC programs without the need for any DNC terminals or PCs sited next to the machine tool.
The Direct DNC System uses the CNC screen to call programs to the machine tool, return edited programs and transfer other files, e.g. sub programs, tool offsets etc. from other directories. A log book is automatically generated in order to log the time and date of each transfer.

The computer running Direct DNC is connected directly to the serial interface on your CNC machine(s) and multiple machines can be connected to a single remote PC via RS232, ethernet or wireless. This is the simplest and most reliable way to transfer NC programs from your computer to your machines and irritating disruptions in your workflow are a thing of the past.

A comprehensive NC Editor is also available for use on the server for creating NC programs or comparing edited programs.

Networked DNC

Networked DNC is an advanced DNC solution that is specifically suited to users that require a higher level shop floor communications system. As well as allowing operators to easily download NC part programs, the system also delivers all manufacturing data directly to the shop floor and can be used by machine operators to navigate for files on a remote server in order to access complete job information packs and view information for a particular works order or component as required. The advantage of this solution is that the shopfloor PC may be used for other tasks, for instance access to a document management system, SPC system, or the company's ERP system.

Networked DNC can be configured to meet requirements specified in quality or operating standards to ensure complete compliance. Additional functionality includes the viewing, editing and manipulation of ASCII Text files (based on user access privileges), graphical status verification and a comprehensive audit trail log. Control is another key feature of Networked DNC.

• 8 levels of user access control (with password protection) for file viewing
• Graphical file status and control - warning of and restricting access to unproven programs
• Edited NC Program transfer control - all programs in a job folders can be automatically blocked until the returned NC Program is approved
